Panniers

Hi

Can anyone please help, I have been offered some panniers that were purchased but never used for a RS1100. Will these fit the GS1100.

I just had a look at a photo of an RS and I would say.. no.

but I'm sure someone will be along soon and say 'DEFINITELY NO'


a quick look on the net... PANNIER SET R1100RS/RT & R1100S (so doesn't look like they will)


panniers for the gs are forever appearing on ebay... sometimes with rails too. at a substantial saving over 'new' £325 + £68 (for rails)

But the downside is... if you have the original exhaust.. the pannier for that side is quite a bit smaller internally.

Definitely no ... unless you modify the exhaust.

The RS has a lower exhaust and 2 full size panniers.

The GS has a higher exhaust and 1 full size pannier and 1 vanity case.

The exhaust side "pannier" is shaped to allow for the silencer. Some guys on here with 1150s have removed the silencer and just run with the cat. That leaves enough space for a full size pannier but still needs some modification for the bottom mounting lug. I suspect this is more trouble than it's worth, (esp. an 1100) because as Tony already posted, GS panniers come up for sale on ebay quite regularly.
