I obviously saved this picture as to what I thought would be a good mounting system, but forgot to save the link. I want to mount some Micro DEs on the bike. Anyone have any good ideas as to what to use, or know where to get these?.

Cheers

Rob

Unfortunately not, but they look to be ideal for fitting lights to roo bars or engine bars. I did have the BMW brackets for the exhaust bra recommended, but having bought some, they are too soft, and slide round the bar as soon as you attach anything. My bars are Chrome, and as I've just replaced them all, I don't want to drill them.

I've utilised the hand guard brackets from an 1150GS to fit lights (Hella DE Fog) to my engine bars (same diameter as roo bars).

They're not on the bike currently so I can't take any pictures. Certainly strong enough for the job :thumb

Hey up Robin
Can you not get some armoured cable clip/brackets from local City Electrics or similar company
They are plastic OK but they are not degradeable - and they are cheap as chips

You can get the those PIAA brackets from PRI Racing for the princely sum of £15.87 plus postage :aidan

Thanks for the replies and the pics. I decided to get all giddy and picked up a set of handguard brackets for the princely sum of fiver and bought the PIAA brackets as well.................I'm gonna fit some monster spots now :-)

Thanks

Rob

The PIAA mounts finally arrived on Friday, (they had been on back order from Japan for weeks) so took a break from the work thing yesterday and got them fitted.

Would have preferred mounting the lights over the bar but the oil cooler prevented that so had to drop them below. Very simple to fit and provide a solid mounting for the lights. :aidan

Do you have an oil temperature gauge ?

They look good, but the lights may restrict the airflow over the heads.

No doubt time will tell - are you going anywhere warm this year ?

Bob.

NO temp gauge, might have to have a rethink. :thumb

One of our favourite suppliers (Motobins ?) used to have a temperature gauge that replaced the dipstick. I thought about getting one as they were'nt expensive.

Might be an idea before doing a re-think as you may not have a problem.

Bob.
