Had a little play in the para bearings. Using the advice on here (:thumb2) I had no problems removing the bevel box etc and putting it back together went well. The play is gone, the bike rides fine.

Thought I would flick through the various topics on here to check I had'nt missed anything and now have a couple of questions :confused:.

Whats 'phasing', should I have done this?

The UJ was bone dry and clean as a whistle. Should this be coated with moly grease?

The splines were still greased with some white stuff. Can I (well to late actually, I already have) just use moly on these as well.

Finally, I just used marine grease on the para bearings as Mr Haynes didnt say what to use.

Thanks all.

The 2 UJs need to be in phase with each other.
The ADV should have a master spline to sort this.

For those with R1100's ..
A picture is worth a thousand words ........

An R1100 Driveshaft in "phase";

Thanks for the pic, I understand now. I assume the 1150 is just the same.
Im not sure if my splines are keyed, but it slotted back together easy-ish and a quick test ride up to 70mph showed no vibes, so I'm guessing its all phased up ok.
Mines a 2002 1150 btw.

There's a very high chance your's are not phased now:thumb
