When you say overfilled how much by?
Only couple of CC's tops. Level was in sightglass after waiting 10mins to cool down, but when totally cold in morning - just over?

How can you see if it's just over the sight glass![]()
put it on E-Bay quick! (I'll give you a tenner for it).

. Ran the bike for 1 year with that much oil inside it, but nu rear main seal failure; when I opened the screw in the airbox, 1L of it came out. Oilglass level was dark no matter how much you lean the bike on the right side
I've never heard of a slight (or even large) overfill blowing past a crank seal - it usually just ends up being shunted down the breather into the airbox.
Sorry, but read of a few cases reported on here?
I read them and panicked a bit - A little knowledge and all that - Mind you still might have gone, do you often see oil down the casing seams?
(ok - I guess it could be thrown by the clutch but I think you'd have noticed a trashed clutch if that happened). It's hard to tell but it looks to me as if something has dripped onto this location from above and then run downwards slightly - are you sure it's engine oil and not petrol, ACF 50 or some other gunk that's got there from above (say when you last washed it)? Looks a bit like a petrol stain to me, although if you've tried to clean it off then possibly not...If I read the picture right, we're looking at a vertical section of casing in front of and above the RH throttle body? Oil would have to leak up hill inside the bellhousing to get there(ok - I guess it could be thrown by the clutch but I think you'd have noticed a trashed clutch if that happened).
Have you checked the airbox bung yet?
If you're feeling really paranoid then remove the starter motor and peer inside the bellhousing with a torch but I would be amazed if a slight overfill cased a crankshaft seal failure - if the clutch is working fine, just drop a little oil and ride it.
) that oil had been thrown up and around bellhousing. Not taken off bung, but changed airfilter yesterday and didn't see any oil swishing around down below, but will check bung, clean off casing, and see what appertains.O come on, you offered £20 to the last schmuck!![]()
Have you checked the airbox bung yet?

Took out airbox bung, bit of clear oil on bung but not dripping out? Just did valve clearances - took out timing hole bung and all seemed dry behind there (but it would anyway would it?), relaxing a tad now.![]()
