Heads up for anyone who parks on Harry St!

If you park outside the Permanent TSB building on Harry St. Thats the street between Bruxelles pub and Grafton St:
The MAG office had a call from someone in parking enforcement. The amount of bikes and they way they are parked have prompted a complaint by a local business. So in future any bike parked there is liable to be clamped.
MAG has been in discussion with Dublin City Council on this issue in the past and it was agreed to consult/warn/give notice before any action would be taken.
So here it is

Best find another place to park folks - bikes parked there are liable to be clamped

Please tell anyone you know

Thanks for the heads up Marc................

so thats two things that are going on Harry St

parking and Berry Bros & Sons fine wines and cigars...........

well I suppose I will no longer have any need to park on Harry st

How do they manage to clamp a bike Og? Have they special clamps for the job?
yes. dedicated, specially sourced from the U.K. Motorcycle clamps. :rolleyes:
as yet unused, though they've had them for over a year now.

the issue has only arisen due to the inconsideration of a tiny minority - and even then it's only a few locations where there's (commercially influenced) competition for pavement space.

my personal opinion;
~ we have the only 'motorised vehicle' that can park pretty much wherever we like, with the only rule being 'common sense' and a bit of consideration.
~ Dublin City Council are being quite reasonable - they didn't have to give us (MAG) a 'heads up' - but they did. :thumb2
~yes, i know :rolleyes: we dont have 'proper' Bike parking in Dublin / but again MAG are trying to work with (a different dept in) )the Council to address this.
