PART NUMBER REQUIRED PLEASE!

[Ghost Rider2]

Managed to roger one of the 'star' fangled bolts that holds the Y-piece to the center stand. Its around 4cm long and black. I've got a 2003 Twin Spark.

Please can one of you kind gents consult the parts CD and obtain a part number for me.

Star Bolt

It's the same as No.3 above ? They were a right bastard to get out on my 03, had to use a 1/2 inch drive & extension, nearly pulled the bike over!! If you've knackered the head, any nut & bolt firm will sort you out a replacement cheaper than a BM one in a plastic bag with a part #. Go & get some nice stainless steel ones.

The required bolt is the mangled 'star' head on right hand side.

those bolts require 'Torx' bits, did you try to use an Allen key?

You may still recover using Torx + a good soaking in penetrating oil (vinegar will do). If not, you will have to slowly drill down centre of bolt and use an easyout.

The bolts required are different to 1100gs, (longer), although I haven't seen parts catalogue for an 1150gs anywhere on the web. Put a spot of coppaslip on the threads when you replace.

Had just bought a new set of TORX bits after a 'mate' had it away with my last set.
Unfortunately the bolt is 'soft' and it didn't take much to bend the splines. The picture makes it look worse than it is. It should untighten without problems. Only thing is, I can't find the replacement part number!

If it's the countersunk "fillister head" M8X25 bolt the part no is 07 119 901 024.
