ENDURANCE ADVENTURES

Synopsis
Part of the Adventure Film Festival. Endurance Adventures comprises 3 short films

Long Way Round - running time 45 minutes.

Long Way Round follows the adventures of actors Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman on their 20,000 mile motor bike trip through Europe, Mongolia and Canada. Over the course of three actionpacked months the pair made their way from London through mainland Europe to Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Siberia, Alaska and Canada before reaching their final destination, New York.

Along the way Ewan and Charley rode across some of the toughest, coldest and most remote terrain in the world, often with no roads to guide them. They also came face-to-face with Kalashnikov-toting gangsters, a hungry grizzly bear and extreme cuisine.

Ewan McGregor is not only one of Britain’s most successful movie actors, with credits for Trainspotting, Moulin Rouge and Star Wars to his name, but also a UNICEF ambassador. Charley Boorman, who has appeared in films such The Serpent’s Kiss and The Bunker, has been riding motorbikes since he was seven years old. He took part in schoolboy motor cross and Enduro races, before running his own motorcycle race team.

Race to Dakar - running time 20 minutes.
Race to Dakar details Charley's extraordinary journey, and is a warts and all look at one of the most dramatic endurance events known to man that until know has until now been shrouded in an air of romantic mystery. Never before have the hardships and risks faced by the competitors been chronicled in such detail.

Alone Across Australia - running time 30 minutes.

In 2001, Jon Muir, one of the world's most accomplished rock climbers and adventurers, began a 2,500-kilometre odyssey to cross Australia from the south to the north coast on foot. For 128 days, Jon and his Jack Russell terrier, Seraphine, lived off the land, using survival techniques practiced for thousands of years by the aborigines. Often close to despair, Jon filmed the documentary himself as he was forced to draw on his stamina and survival instincts to complete the journey.
