I have 2 issues with second hand tyres on cars,the big selling point is value.
You can buy a second hand tyre from 20 quid up but most of the time it will have 3 mm of tread 4 mm if you get a real good one.a new tyre will have at least 9 mm tread so will last at least 3 times as long so is far better value.
With a new tyre even a budget special you know what you are getting with a second hand you do not,there are all kind of safety issues involved and at present 15% of all second hand tyres inported are totally useless and the rest not a lot better

But to answer your question would i use a second hand bike tyre NO

I wouldnt use part worn really.

Have a 100yr old mi ra and i put goid Hankooks on it. Neber skimp or take chances with rubber.
