Had a GS WC as a loan bike for the day last week and took the wife out on it for a couple of hours, liked the bike but she found the seat uncomfortable after an hour:mad:. (She's happy all day on my current GS which has a Touratech one piece seat)
Has anyone changed the pillion seat on their GS WC? has it improved things?
Thanks
Phil

My wife finds the GS LC rear seat no better or worse than either our previous K1300R or 07 GS? The only thing she mentions is she seems to be clooser to me!

Give it a try over a longer distance and see what she thinks

Everyone's bum is a different shape, size, firmness etc :) so you cannot generalise - my girlfriend road pillion all the way to the south of France last Summer on my LC and had no serious complaints she didn't start to wriggle until we'd done well over 200 miles.

No complaints from my wife the other day, with the BMW seat, but I have the Touratech single seat, so will try that next time, and see what she thinks.:thumb

My other half finds the seat on the LC uncomfortable after about an hour as well, and she didn't have a problem on my older GS. I wonder if they've changed the foam in the seat. We're off to Garmisch next week so I may try the Airhawk cushion I bought a while back.

Back today after an 11 night 3k mile tour 2nd big trip on the LC no complaints from the wife about the rear seat with daily mileage up to 420 miles!

And that's before we get into what kind of knickers they're wearing. Raised seams, bunched up bits and dampness would all lead to discomfort. For longer trips I'd suggest persuading your wives and girlfriends out of whatever frilly confections they use to gird their loins and into some pukka ladies cycling underwear. For shorter trips Ex Officio briefs or similar would be a good choice.

I am available on a consultancy basis to advise ladies on the correct choice of underwear for most occasions..... :)

Could you please confirm whether the dampness is caused by any increase/decrease in vibration of the new LC engine :-)

To those with wives who are happy on the back...do you have a topbox fitted? This is the first bike I've had a topbox on and I'm wondering if that's restricting the space on the pillion seat and not helping the comfort levels :duno

Givi top box fitted no problems although she says she is nearer to me than on my K1300 and 05/07 GS's:thumb

Hey Rushingphil, not sure if this is the correct place to respond but I see that you are looking for a Low riders seat? I am looking to swap my Low seat for a standard seat. So if you are interested in a swap email me on [email protected]
