Planning short biking holiday with my wife 9 months after her second knee replacement. To reduce strain on the knees from being bent for sometime was looking to try passenger foot peg lowering brackets. Has anyone tried them and did they help the pillion?
Thanks

I had passengers lowering foot pegs on my gs from wunderlich not cheap £160 ish then dropped about an inch. She said that she could tell the difference but we would stop every hour or so

I made some for my wife.
Are you a handy sort of a chap? All you would really need is a pillar drill.
I bought some aluminium square bar, which I think was 22mm. Then it's just a case of drilling and counter boring for the bolts that go into the frame, then drilling and taping to refit the footrest about 25mm further forward.
I'll send you some pictures if you want.
Your limited how much you can lower them by the std can, an aftermarket can might allow for more drop.

Not on my GS but on an FJR, wife said they made a huge difference to her comfort.

These were fitted by a previous owner. They do give less of a knee bend.

I fitted these a number of years ago, good feedback from the boss.
My thoughts are that she is less secure under braking, so just need to adapt to this.

Thank you all. I’ll give them a try. We have found before the 2nd knee replacement (left done 3 years ago, right done 9 months ago) 1hr to 1hr 20min, 1.5hr the absolute limit before stopping helped plus a cocktail of pain killers.

I have them fitted on my RT & GS I got some cheap (less than £25) ones of Ali Express to see if they were any good. They fit perfectly and have been on for years with no issues at all. Yes they do work too :-)

It doesn’t just benefit the relaxation of the knee bend, but it also makes it easier for the easier for the pillion to step up to to get on

Have them on the gsa, pros are lower footrest so easier to step on to and less knee bend on the bike.

Cons are that once they stand on the peg ito get on it is much more difficult to lift the other leg over the panniers and the saddle
