Hi Folks,

Well great news has been that as well as getting a new to me GS this week the missus has also taken the plunge and come out on the back with me. So spent a fortune on Saturday kitting her all out then we went for a wee blast 50 miles or so and she likes it. Yesterday we did a 260mile trip up around Skye and by the end her rear was in agony, so looking to get your thoughts on alternatives to help eleviate the problem on long runs.

I felt fine on the standard seat but the passenger one is rather hard in standard guise. Was looking for something like the gel ones you can attach.

Cheers
Mark

there's tow ways of doing this;-

1, http://www.theprivateclinic.co.uk/treatments/fat-transfer/buttocks-augmentation

2, http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/motorcycle-gel-seat

Put the options to SWMBO and see where it goes from there. :thumb

Had to use this last week in an emergency:D Apparently, it was pretty comfy:thumby:

In the meantime, nip out to your local, friendly cycling shop and buy her some cycling underwear. This might just be enough additional padding to alleviate the sore arse problem.

Tell your missus that the BMW seat is 'conditioning' her backside and it will not only get better the more miles she does - but she will have a toned backside that other women will envy :hide

Many thanks for the thoughts folks, like the statium seat for a tenner spot on...

Watch out though, if you blow it up too hard then it will sit her too high, not enough and you "roll about" if she is new to bikes, it's not the best option... She will feel insecure..... Buy an air hawk...or send the seat to Tony Archer (google) and have a gel insert fitted...

AirHawk or equivalent cheaper thing.

Plus 1 on this

I tried the gel seat and it gave a minor improvement for the misuss but I could tell she was still aching after a bit, believe it or not she is not one to complain

Got the airhawk second hand £40 of a patron

It's the final solution and she can sit all day on this, once you get the right pressure inside to match the weight

if an ache sets in the air can be fine tuned

H

Air hawk every time for us.We have done some monster mileage on these,850 plus in the day and not a sqeak from the mrs.

Cheap comfy options??

Pay a visit to Bakerman in Andover and buy one of his bagels....

If her arse is still sore after sitting on it, you can eat it.

Cheap, and money not wasted if it doesn't work. :D
