Passenger weight ?

Be careful

Assuming that this large lad can actually climb aboard your pilliion it will be a real balancing act before you get under way and then to park! Make sure he knows the dangers of moving around, particularly at rest.

Need to give a mate a 50 mile lift on the back of the GS next weekend and as he's shall we say a little on the lardy side I was wondering on the weight limit for passengers

We won't be taking any luggage but how many turns of the big black knob do you think I will need with an extra 19 stone on the back. Should I also up the PSI in the rear tyre

Max preload (black knob) and max rebound damping (fully clockwise). I take a 5' 2" 7.5 stone lady for a ride sometimes and always use max pre-load but only about 3/4 damping - this keeps it all under control very nicely. If you don't max out the rebound then it might get a bit bouncy with a heavy load.

Thank you Nostromo thats the type of useful information that makes these forums so worth while.

If only the "it's in the manual" brigade weren't so obsessed with their post count:aidan
Thats what you get for your £12 mate, dont bother.
The senior they are, the worse their contempt for new members.
Get a car tyre on the back, or.....hush my mouth...a van tyre.

There's no contempt for new members, only those who ask stupid questions without attempting a bit of research first.
And yes, I know the oft touted "There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers" and believe me, the one will follow the other as sure as night follows day.

Bang on there BM:thumb

The old miserable post count folk R17GSR alludes to are the very people who are generally the first people to help them out when they have a real problem:thumb

If people actually researched or read the manual before posting a dull question because they are too idle, they wouldn't get the ribbing:rob

The manual is so basic, ( here is the brake, no 7 is the clutch, this is where you put the oil,,,,,,)that, if you need to read it then best buy a Micra.
By the way what oil is the best for a 07 1200?

Simple things maybe, but they seem to pass many by it seems.

The same manual that you (and others) dismiss so disdainfully* also has a complete section devoted to the adjustment of suspension and the carrying of weight over and above a 'normal' solo rider. Useful, it would seem?

*You also extended the simplicity of the manual to the owners, pointing them in the direct of a Nissan dealer's for the purchase of a base model. The implication being that they are too simple to ride a motorcycle. Nice one.

Fun mate, wish I was a fisherman.......hook line and sinker, your all so gullible, lol.

Ah, the old "I was just fishing" plea, when rumbled as a numbskull.

Must try harder.

1/10.

Stay behind after school.
