Patch of liquid under fuel vent pipes

I am normally a very good boy and do not let my 100,000 mile plus 1150 GS idle on its centre stand when I start it up.
However I got distracted and did today and when I checked under the bike I noticed a small patch of clear liquid had gathered under the 2 vent pipes under the bike (I assume its petrol) The tank is full but not get every single bit of fuel I can in it full. Is this normal, the bike had not been started or ridden for about 2 weeks.
I am still getting used to looking after a 23 year old bike, as I have only had this bike for just under a year.

I had two 1150s and when the tanks were full they used to vent a bit of petrol if the weather was a bit warm. Did you smell the liquid to see if it was petrol?

Yep, I did have a sniff and it smelled strongly of petrol, I am hoping its just normal venting

My 1150’s have both vented petrol, particularly if hot and the tank brimmed.

Well you basically had the heat turned on under an enclosed vessel

So Yes fairly normal in this instance

A useful tip, if you fill your 1150 up in warm weather and you are not going to immediately ride off then try and move the bike to the shade and leave the filler cap open until you set off again.
