IT guy said that I should try Ad aware, I went through the download process. But my PC at the final stage said that this could not be completed as their was not enough memory available.

Another option he gave me was to stop all the programmes running automatically at start up. I told my mate at work, but it seemed a bit iffy. IT guy said.... I think:blast open up the start menu, and delete anything that i don't want to run from start up.

We tried it on his PC:augie only with "games", but when he did a search for these afterwards, the only place they were to be found was in the recycle bin. Did I not understand the IT guys instruction:rolleyes: and what should I do to stop programmes running automatically and slowing my pc down?

I also asked him about upgrading the RAM (ONLY 250!), he showed me what to remove, but I'd rather go along the option of not starting programmes.

All answers in PC numpty language please.
