I'm fcking sick of computers.
I had been having problems with crackling noises when playing audio through my SB! Live card and in another forum I was recommended to load some super dooper drivers from a comapny called kxproject. The recommendations on the website were very positive and I had a look at their forum which seemed to suggest these drivers were worth getting.
I duly downloaded the latest stable version and although it took an age to install an it all seemed to finish Ok and the PC restarted.
However it failed on Windows intialisation with "Invalid VXD dynamic link call from VSYNTHD(01) + 00002D7FC to device "3A72", service 1" .
The PC won't boot up at all now and is asking me to reload Windows which I don't want to do because 1) I can't find the disk and 2) because I don't want to wipe out my system.
I've booted into Safe Mode and and run an uninstall on the drivers using their downloaded set up program but it's stil lf'cked and I'm getting the same error on boot up.
I don't expect anybody here to know anything about these drivers but does anyone know a way of getting back to a previous configuration? It's my old Win98SE PC that I use for all my music compositions and emails so I can't afford to not have it working.
Assuming I found my Win 98 disk is it possible to reinstall Windows without wiping the disk?
Cheers
Dick
