Peak District Christmas Do

We used to have a “Peak District Christmas Do” at The 3 Stags Heads in Wardlow Mires and, latterly, The Red Lion in Litton?
It’s about time we did another, so I’m proposing one in Derby on Sat 13th December.
Me, Mr K & Roberto are already booked in at the Smart Aston Court Hotel in Derby. At the moment, it’s £39.60 for a twin room and £32.40 for a single, and there’s private parking round the back.
The intention is to do a pub crawl… Derby is blessed with fabulous pubs and breweries… there’ll be no clubbing, bouncers, queuing, short skirts and high heels (unless you really want to)… just good, old fashioned boozers, with really great ales… and a “Micro Pub” I bet you’ve never been to one of those!

OK, next Saturday is almost upon us, so here’s an update…

We’re meeting at The Brunswick (nearly opposite the station) at 3:00pm. We’ll be easily recognisable, just look for a bunch of Tossers talking bollox! Derby are playing away, so it shouldn’t be Rammed (see what I did there?). The beer will be excellent as most of the pubs have their own brewery.

The proposed itinerary is shown below, it’s about 2 miles in total from The Brunswick to finishing up in the city centre. Presumably, we’ll be looking for something to eat by then.

1. The Brunswick, Railway Terrace (Brunswick Brewery).
2. Brewery Tap, Derwent St. (Derby Brewing Company). Near The Exeter.
3. The Peacock Inn, Old Nottingham Rd. (Own brewery out the back). Great pork pies.
4. The Furnace Inn, Duke St. (The Shiny Brewing Co.) CAMRA Pub of the Year 2014.
5. Five Lamps, Duffield Rd. 9+ beers.
6. Flowerpot, King St. (Black Iris Brewery).
7. Old Silk Mill, Full St. 12+ beers, some direct from the cask.
