Did a circuit of the Peak District last weekend & may be doing it again this Sunday. Round trip approximately 100 miles on mainly B roads & single lane farm roads. Surprisingly we encountered little traffic despite it being Easter weekend, just as well joe public doesn’t read maps nowadays to find the interesting roads.

At this time of the year I always try to avoid the obvious popular roads i.e. “Cat & Fiddle” “Snake” etc. Nevertheless a couple of miles of the C & T are included up to Walker Barn where we head down to Wildboarclough, across the Leek road & head for Moneyash (for breakfast) along the excellent B5055.

From there to Bakewell, Hathersage, past Ladybower, Strines, Dale Dike, Mimdhope, Langsett, Woodhead & Torside reservoirs (I like reservoirs :)) & down past Glossop to the Goyt valley & eventually to Macclesfield.

It’s a very scenic route & one that I'm sure a lot of you will be familiar with, taken at a civilized (ish :augie) pace & anyone is welcome to join us (sofar only 2).

Used to live near Glossop (Royston Vasey to be exact) and (again) you have managed to come up with some of the best an area has to offer. Have to pass on the ride this time as, by a master stroke of orgainsation, I'll be driving to Sunderland tomorrow and Bristol on Sunday. Have a great ride.

Hi guys

Just got in from ferrying the kids around, such is the curse of all parents of teenagers :(. So now I'm burning the midnight oil.

Great photos Stevie

Catch up with you on the next one Dave.

BTW anyone riding this weekend watch out for mucky roads near farms. Its "muck spreading time" & I should know, my workshop is on a farm & the road to it is covered in the stuff. Put my van into a 4 x wheel drift on a bend & nearly lost the bugger  Don't think that abs could cope with 4" of cow sh#t :D
