Peg lowering

Hi Kev, I'm 6'5" and am one of those nuts who do 1,000 mile days rides from time to time. Have just moved over to a new 2021 GSA from a K1600 GTL. I could,t put peg lowering in on the GTL, ground clearance was insufficient grinding the pedals especially in tight twisties on a regular basis. The GSA in my very limited experience so far has far more ground clearance and so I took a chance and went with the Wunderlich 50mm EVO lowering set and new footrests. Yesterday I took the bike out through the mountain here in Austria and had no problem with clearance. As my confidence in the bike grows and I pick up speed and lean angles we will see but I do not envisage a problem ;-). The lowering does make a remarkable difference to comfort on the plus side. I also bought the Wunderlich Brake and Geat levers that can be extended. They are needed as a combo with the lowered footrests. Haven't fitted them yet, changing gear was a little difficult yesterday requiring me to raise my foot to change down. The new gear leaver will solve that. Will report further.

My new GSA arrives in 5 days. I have already jumped in and ordered the Wunderlich lowered pegs from Nippy Norman, which drop the pegs by 25mm I believe. I also believe that you can adjust the height of the OEM brake and Gear levers, so hoping the new pegs will be OK.

Hi Kev,

I've lowered my pegs by 50mm. I've also got the extended W Brake and Gear lever although I haven't fitted them yet. The gear lever needs a T60. That arrives Tuesday, will let you know how that goes.

I have searched for Wund pegs that drop by 50 mm and have found the ones that you set up to any position, 360 DEGREES WITH 50 MM ARMS, VARFKIT50S12 are they the ones you have. Others dont drop anywhere near 50mm.

Hi Kev, that's the ones. They are very well made and do make a huge difference. Moreover the 360 degree adjustment may well prove very useful. Apart from a bit of a fiddle transfering the OEM spring each side took just a minute or two to fix. I'm delighted with them. I will need the extensions to the brake and gear lever as well. I take a size 15 UK shoe ;-). Will have them fitted all being well tomorrow with a test ride Wednesday.
