I would personally advise potential buyers of a GPS to avoid this company.
I bought a Zumo 550 off them at the begining of the month for £474. Thought that was great with next day delivery. Next day sure enough the Zumo arrived. On opening the couriers plastic and removing the GPS box it appeared to have been opened. On checking the contents found at the car accessories were missing. I contacted them by Phone and was told to email them, so I did. Got an email back saying they had contacted Garmin who would send items direct to me. As yet they have not arrived. Have phoned and emailed Pentagon but have had no success in getting any responce. Finally contacted Garmin this morning, who have been great and items, I am assured, will be in the post today. Oh yes forgot to mention the unlock code (yellow piece of paper) was also missing from the box, their response was, phone Garmin! :spitfire

Thanks for the heads-up.

I know that Garmin seem to be sorting out your problems for you (and this is above and beyond what they should have to do - it should be down to the retailer), but this is an example of where "best price" doesn't necessarily equate to "best deal". It's somewhat dangerous publishing a "blacklist" of suspect supppliers, but perhaps a sticky listing known "good" suppliers could be helpful?

Finally, most of us buy goods like this over the internet or phone using a credit card. Credit card companies are jointly liable with the retailer when goods aren't up to scratch and my experience is that they have some pretty big guns that they're not afraid to use against retailers who give them grief. As such, it's always worth registering a complaint at least and a claim if necessary against the credit card company in cases like this. They will investigate and they will act in your interests, mainly because they can't enforce a debt against you for faulty goods. If their investigation reveals that it's not an isolated incident with the retailer then they can and do withdraw facilities from that retailer which means they cease to operate :augie

thats not good, I got a zumo 550 from pentagon a couple of weeks ago, but fortunatly for me the box was sealed and everything correct :clap

By contrast, I bought a GPS from Pentagon about a year ago and had no problems at all. But as they're reasonably local to me I collected in person, which may have helped. And to be honest, I didn't get any impression of a 'cowboy' outfit.

Got a GPS also from them, no problems and a reasonable price. They do look to be very busy which I guess gives some indication on what most people's experience is.

From what people seem to be saying from their own experiences sound promising.
Believe you me, when I spend £470 of my hard earned money I want some recourse if there is a problem.
I will try emailing them again and see what happens.
This morning though I was NOT a happy camper, spending 40+ mins on the phone trying to get an answer!

I have also bought a GPS from them, with no problems at all. I collected it in person and they were extremely helpfull - even offering to give me a demo though all the basic features before I left the showroom :thumb2
