peoples thoughts on venture shield paint protection??

as says lads im planning on having the full venture shield paint protection kit added to me bike and panniers in the new year, now to me it looks bang on what im after for preventing or minimalizing stone chips etc. to the front of the bike, but just after some oppinions from people who've already had it applied to there bike/bikes,hows it holdin up,worth the money etc.???

I've had it on my 2006 RT for 7 years now. Works ok? Not got any chips or scratches.
 
its a good product had it on a few bikes now. Can highly reccommend a firm called invisible patterns, warrington, very professional job.
 
Had my K1600 done from new at Covertech in Birmingham. Brilliant product. Bike is still pristine. Highly recommend Covertech. Really nice lads and total petrolheads.

mate. im glad you've said this, because this is who im gonna use:thumby:, got talkin to the main rep at the bike show, who Ive since found out is a relation of the guys at covertech, seemed like a sound bloke, happy to demonstrate the product to its full extent, even jamming scissors into a piece of venture shield and then re- using it:blast, still worked fine tho:thumby:, so first stop covertech in the new year:banana
 
I have a new bike coming in April and Covertech will be my first stop. Despite the usual wear and tear and occasional drama my current bike doesn't have a mark on it.
 
I'm waiting for a quote from Vines to get their Ventureshield chap in to get the bike shielded before I pick it up. I'd like the rear frame and swingarm done, not overly worried about the painted panels, but IME the areas at the back of the GS are most likely to get a peppering.:rob Has anyone else had these areas wrapped with the clear film, if so, how is it holding up?
 
I doubt they would do that Nutty, because the frame is too fiddly & the shaft is too, plus gets hot

Just ride it, it's a GS

My 8 year old bikes haven't suffered in that area & you only keep yours 5 minutes, so why worry about owner no.2 :)

I did wonder about the heat on the shaft. The frame can be done, as I did it on the last one, but you're right, it's very fiddly, and takes a while.

Will see how much they quote but if its silly money, won't bother.:comfort
 
Now i confess, i really am bike mad i love em to look minta than mint and used to really hate getting stone chips or any type of marks on my bikes, to a point I'd end up selling and having a new one every year (OCD). Until i found ventureshield.

I've fitted 100's of kits i started as a novice doing just my own bikes than friends wanted me to fit there's and I've done a front nose on a Ferrari and so on just as an hobby all foc and ive made templates out of card for bikes that its not available for, ventureshield is 3m, so don't use anything other than 3m or it goes yellow in the sun.

For the parts that you want extra, I cut all my own pieces first using some card as a template that cut it out of the 3m stuff, when fitting use plenty of water solution and ideal the temp needs to be warm for it to heal, and needs to be left for 24hrs before being used to allow the film to heal, its very easy to work with.

I fitted the full kit includes the headlight glass film as well on my 2013 gs, i did the rear frame, the rear drive both sides, front fork legs, cylinder pot covers and many other bits and pieces and ill be doing my new 2014, but it will not be till march as its too cold now for it to heal 100%

You can just see the outline of it fitted on my rear drive, its bo11ox about the heat its not hot enuff to make any difference on these parts infact heat seals the film and my cylinder covers and drive were perfect.

Had it done to my 1150R & my R1200RT. When you consider the money we ( & I'm as guilty as the next man ) spend on bling, it's money well spent.
If I had a new bike, or car, it's the first thing I'd get done.
Went to Bodyguard in Daventry. Spotless workshop, cup of tea offered on arrival, & worth going to just to hear the two business partners taking the P out of each other, non stop.:beerjug:

Sorry mate but thats serious case of ocd . You need help! Break the cycle life would be so much more stress free.

no doesn't need help, needs to be commended, because rightly or wrongly its protecting your investment, and the next person to buy his bike, gets a minter:thumby:

Not at all even i draw the line somewhere! Always got a quick wash, different rag for the dash and screen. that was about it, no need to smother the thing in scotchguard/3m from head to toe, unless youre majorly ocd, imo.
