Anyone found a good application for personal finance on a Mac?

I've been auditioning several and all have failed because they can't download transactions from PayPal.

Seems bizarre in this day and age that personal finance software can't play nicely with PP.

Personal Finance Software For Macs

Hi, my Dad used Microsoft money for years, then I made him get an iMac. He trialled quite a few programmes and took my recommendation for iBank (available through the app store). It is compatable with old MS Money files and he apparently downloads bank statements straight into it.

It's £39.99 with a free 30 day trial, so if you don't like it, just cancel.

Not sure about PayPal though - but their support network is OK so maybe a quick call to them, or just try via the Free Trial.

Good Luck

I'm sorry sir, Macs only do graphics, advertising, modelling and posing.

If you want a serious business machine, you'll need to buy a proper PC

Thanks, but I already tried iBank and it doesn't do PayPal:blast

Managed to run my moderately serious business on macs for the past 12 years or so.:pullface

iMoney should do it but we don't use it, I use quick books cloud edit.

piece of piss, always backed up it's a month on month or yearly contract, can't really say if it would work for personal I don't exist have been a company for 20-ish years...

do a check on which of the FSB site they normally do some sensible advise re how best to do it....

Can't you just build yourself a few sheets in Excel? I'm pretty sure Paypal has the facility to export reports as a CSV?

I had a go at dragging myself into the 21st century with computerised finances but ended up staying with a paper version, garbage in garbage out is the computer way, by the time all my info was computerised i'd have been better off writing it down and spending the extra time in't pub:thumb2

Juat face it if you're crap at paperwork finances you'll be crap at computer based systems.

Pity the paypal is a deal breaker

Have been using ibank for some time. Imported MS money files with no trouble. Good luck with finding something.

A quick look at the documentation and web site suggests it won't even import records from bank accounts, let alone PayPal (which is harder)

Unfortunatly PP don't provide MS Money files and the qifs don't work.

Can't belive that these programs don't support PayPal.
