Petit Futé publish some pretty good motorcycle centric guide books. Several of these have been updated to include downloads of the suggested jaunts.

After some guessing as to what to do, I downloaded one, just as a trial. It worked well. Here it is displayed in Pocket Earth. It goes into MyRoute just as well. But, you have to upload it to MyRoute as a track and then ask MyRoute to convert the track into a route.

Instant days out for you and your obligatory six mates at the drop of a hat.

But it’s all in foreign, mate. Yup, that is the language of Petit Futé, somewhat inconveniently. Complain to them or (better still) to a UK publisher, that they should be doing something similar. Anyway, you’ll be off to France, so it’ll not be the only bit of foreign that you encounter.

Have fun and enjoy your holiday.

Here, for instance, is the track of a 185 mile jaunt around the Luberon, Provence. I know the area and roads pretty well and can say that it woukd make a very good full day out or, maybe, spread it over two days.

If you plan on riding it in the middle of August, take lots of water and then take lots more. Before midday and into the early afternoon, it will (in all likelihood) be like an oven, up into the 30’s centigrade.

It doesn’t take much looking at a map, to see that there is also a big load of good roads, just slightly to the north as well:

And here, from the same book, is the northern / western edge, to bring in Mont Ventoux and the attractive Provençal towns of Sault and Gordes. In fact, you can’t go far wrong in many of the villages and towns.

Muck the two separate jaunts around a bit, to make yourself a near enough instant holiday, with very little effort.

The area that one of my favourite films was made - "A good year" ❤️

Following your recommendation back in ‘22 I bought their France À Moto which is chock full of great ideas for rides around the country

Excellent!

Petit Futé have done a great service by making the GPX files available for that very good book, too. Well worth getting. My much earlier copy of the book was pre-GPX, so I bought myself a new copy.
