Pheasant Strike - Can Anyone Help?

Well I hit a pheasant last weekend. It hit my shoulder. Felt like a punch, but the armour took most of the impact and there wasn't even any bruising. Shook me up a bit though.

The lad following me said it looked quite spectacular!

A mate of mine was on his way to work one morning when a pheasant ran out in front of him and was thwacked by the car's wing. Andy stopped and went back to see what damage he'd done (to the pheasant). The bird looked surprisingly OK apart from being dead. Andy decided to pick it up and take it home for a spot of pheasant plucking and, later, pleasant munching. Yes, he knew this was technically poaching...

Anyway, off he drives with the corpse in the front passenger footwell. But it isn't a corpse. Said pheasant comes round and decides that he doesn't like his new surroundings . Frantic fluttering, hopping, scrabbling ensued (and that was just Andy!) until finally Andy delivered the coupe-de-grace.

Allegedly, when he arrived at work and opened his car door, a cloud of feathers emerged with him to the surprise of his workmates.

Apparently, picking up the pheasant YOU have hit in the car is illegal... BUT, you can pick up a dead phasant that the car in front has hit......
Please dont ask me why tho'..... probably just a daft british law.

Also, the reasons pheasant walk out in front of the car is that they look the wrong way as they are foreign imports (originally asian birds, not native to the UK)
