Isn't that the track that also leads to the top of Bedwas (going the otherway if Course :augie) Used to do that on the old mountain bike (I even raced up there aswell, now I am feeling old:rob:rob) a couple of years ago, there is also a way up from the Sirhowy Valley visitor center and Machen Mast I believe. Very doable on a GS, mind ewe the route down from the mast going away from Machen has a very very nasty downhill bit :eek: that ought to be avoided at all costs:thumb2
Ewe have too much time on your hands in my opinion, ewe lucky fecker:augie

Thats where I live! (Machen, not on the common). Ridden that 'road' on my Strom and DRZ a few times.

You have to be careful up there though, as technically there is no right of way (at least according to the information I can gather), and there has been a lot of problems with MX'ers so the Police have been known to patrol up there.(Having said this, if you are on a road legal bike, they would probably just laugh at you and tell you to go somewhere else)

You can go pretty much from Rhiwderin, along to Wylie without too much tarmac, and all doable on a GS, or a Strom.

Might have to join you boys for a ride sometime!

There are also some BOAT's on Senghennydd common, which are legal, and GS able, although a couple of sections are a bit muddy/rutty so you would need TKC's rather than road tyres.

Hi J, looks nice up there, have you got a garmin route/track for it?

Cheers,

Ian

Sorry Ian, I'm still looking at maps! It isn't difficult to find, but is hardly worth riding down from Ebbw Vale especially, because it is only a couple of miles in length. Is'nt there a similar but much longer route from Manmoel to Ebbw Vale? I'm sure I rode there over 30 years ago on a CZ 125 road bike! I think I will wait untill a dry spell, the Continental Trail Attacks were a bit squirmy on the muddy grass today.
