Just about to order some PIAA's from the states if anyone else is interested in a set give me a shout, the postage is a lot cheaper for two sets.

The 002 model are an ideal drive lamp, with a 35W PIAA bulb which burns at 70W, low power use. :thumb

Hello,

I am not intersted by the PIAA,but I just want to say that I am used to order many items from the States, and if you ask them to use the regular US postal, insted of UPS or Fedex, you get your parcel in 10 days, and it cost about only 13$ for shipping.

A+ Pogo

Les,

You've probably already factored this into your equations, in which case I apologise. When importing goods from outside of the EU, the shipping company seem to have some responsibilities for collecting VAT and Import Duty on behalf of Gordon Brown's Customs and Excise mafia.

It has been inconsistent, but sometimes when I've bought stuff from the States I later receive an invoice from the shipping company for 10% Import Duty, plus 17.5% VAT.

Oddly enough Les, I just got a pair over from Mr Snappy a week ago, cause I want to retrofit with HID H3s and see how that works out.

Following on from what Yoda says, it the package is marked as a "gift" then you can import up to a whopping £36 pounds worth of product duty free. So one set of lights from Mr Snappy will mean you dont pay duty. 2 sets and while you save on postage, you might well get screwed by the taxman instead.

Thanks for that chaps, will go for one set as the gift option, should be safe then.

HM Customs & Excise are gloriously inconsistent here. Sometimes that works - and, guess what? Sometimes it doesn't.

Factor in VAT & Import Duty and if you don't get charged then it's a bonus.

les .

could you let me know who youre buying from - i'd like to get them to send me some this way.

PM me if you don't want to advertise :thumb

thx

Damn

My HID H3 burners dont fit in these. These are very compact lights.

So I have a brand new set of these in the UK, unused, still in the original packaging. From memory they cost me about £50 quid all up, landed in the UK, but I am happy to sell them for £33 quid + £5 p&p if anyone wants them.

If none of you guys want them I will offer them on Ebay in a couple of days.

Mine just arrived today, nice bit of kit and if they are good I would'nt mind another set :D
