Why does it have to rain when you collect a new bike? Ho, hum, it wasn't too wet. Only 6 miles on the clock, but all good so far..... except the lack of engine bars and panniers which are on back order and might be available sometime next week.

Nice bike.:thumb Get a crud catcher on there quick smart, or it won't stay nice for long.:rob And some protection around the back wheel against stone chips.:rob

Good choice.

However, the Adventure is impervious to rain, though I'm not so sure about tap water though.

Picked min up last Thurs. it was pi$$ing down!!

Red TE.

200 miles covered now. Headers are discolouring (inevitable I suppose).

Well happy so far. ;-)

230 miles today, and I am definitely a happy boy! The pleasure has suddenly returned to my riding, and that’s not to say the Crosstourer was a bad bike, it’s just that it and I weren’t getting along so well!!

As to the new GS, well, the engine was as tight as a drum this morning, but is just starting to ease off a bit, so it’s revving a bit more freely tonight. “Road” mode is quite quick enough, “Dynamic” mode just makes the bike fly, and with such low mileage on the clock, that didn’t get used much at all today. The tyres are indeed Michelin Anakee III and I thought they were dreadful coming home in the rain yesterday, but brand new tyres on a brand new £13+k bike in the rain is never going to be an inspiring combination! Today, once they were scrubbed in, I reckon am impressed with them.

The one thing I’ve not mastered yet is finding neutral. It must be in there somewhere, but I’m afraid I’ve always taken 2 or 3 attempts to find it. That apart, the gearbox is very smooth, much nicer than my old 59 plate GS.

So, all good. Tomorrow’s plan is to do another couple of hundred miles, then I’ll be well on the way to the first service at 600.

:D
