Picked her up on Saturday Morning at 10am from Bahnstormers then went for a little bimble before going to collect the wife ! Straight down to the coast ( Lepe ) for a picnic.

Bike at Lepe.

Then went for quite a long blast through the new forest past Weymouth to West Bay near Bridport .. The coastal road from Weymouth to West Bay has the most spectacular views !! Then back to Good Ol Basingstoke.

Thats 400 miles on the clock .. Better book her in for the first service !!

Wife at Bridport ..

Absolutely......Mine looks just like yours........... Amazing how wives can look alike.
2000 miles and still going. She needs new shoes though!

:bounce1

Hey Stig..........looks like you are all tooled up (tank bag etc) for the long one. :thumb2 So what you got planned now that you've come back to the dark side?

And how does your '09 compare with your (my) old '08 - any changes in spec?

Cheers mate and you lucky blighter. Great bit of kit - and the bikes OK too I suppose. :augie

Hi Old Rascal,

Not much difference in the 08 / 09 .. Seems smoother to me but that's probably psychological .. Still Pops and Bangs like the 08 ..

Must admit I forgot how bloody big they are .. I'm 6ft 2 but have V.Short legs .. Only 31 inch so with all that luggage and the wife I was a bit wobbly at junctions ..bnige Nearly fell off the thing while parking up in front of loads of other bikers at Bridport !! :blast

But the biggest difference is the speed .. So much faster coz its
RED ;)

How’s my old Bike doing ..? what you got the mileage up to ?? You should arrange another one of those Goodwood ride outs .. You could even come along yourself this time .:augie

Nice One :thumb now picked mine up friday as you know but magnesium and its due a service now 634 on the clock :D Have fun with her...........and the bike

Your old bike is doing just fine and dandy. :thumb I went out this morning for a 50 mile bash over the South Downs but there were far too many racing gods riding like bloody lunaitcs for my taste. So I just settled down, comfy like, and saw them off round the twisty bits.........yup, that was fun. :D The odometer clicked onto 4000 as I got home so that's 1500 miles since you last saw the old gal.

Apart from fitting a Touratech screen extender (brilliant bit of kit) and hard-wiring in a Zumo - oh yes, and fitting a big-foot to the side stand, she is just as you last saw her and going like a train. As to height, I'm 6ft 3" with 33" inside leg and still fell happiest with the seat on its lowest setting. Bloody tall buggers, these GSAs.

Its a pity I missed out on the Goodwood run but I've made up for it since. I organised a 3-day bimble over to Brittany a few weeks ago and 5 of us had a hoot. So how about you and your lovely SWMBO joining in for the next little foray into France, now scheduled for June sometime? You'll have sorted out the balancing act by then, I should imagine. :comfort

Got mine last week - red as well - Stuff the credit crunch! Was really getting into the swing of it this this weekend, what a fabulous bike!

Would love to join your trip .. But SWMBO is a teacher which means we get the fun of spending our holidays in Kiddy season !!! I would be tempted to come along on my own but its hard enough spreading my holiday out to try and keep up with hers !! :(
