A few hours to play today, so we pack our Fortnum and Mason Picnic hamper and head off into the Peaks.

Over to Holmsfield , Owler Bar toward baslow, take the Curbar road past the Edge ,

Stop to photo (Reminds me of Colditz) and these beauties came over to investigate.

Calver Mill, Calver, Derbyshire, UK.
Calver Mill , Calver village and the surrounding peak district countryside (most probably Froggatt Edge) doubled up for Laufen PoW camp and its surrounds in ‘The Undeafeated’. Pat and friends can be seen escaping across the weir in ‘The Undefeated’. Today Calver Mill has been turned into an apartment block. Flats are currently on the market for around £300,000, tunnel not included.

We head off through Stoney Middleton,Tideswell toward Buxton. Destination Goyt Valley.
Looks really Black Over Bills Mothers House and getting colder.
Decide to follow the Sun and head over Harpur Hill pushed along by gathering cloud.
Over the intercom, “Have you decided where to stop for a drink and warm up”???
Hint , hint , subtle as a flying mallet .
[/SIZE]“ Oh Yes she who must be obeyed” .
We have a look at Old Smithy in Monyash then , circle back to Flagg . Another nice Tea Room. Space a plenty,
coffee and a log burner fire to warm the Mrs Up.

Very windy in parts , moving the bikes quite a bit.
We move on back to Monyash and pickup the Racetrack route, two runs round it , good fun. Down through to Youlgreave , Alport , looking for a lunch spot near the river. I decide to have a look to the left on an unsuitable for motors,
Julie chimes in, “ I am not doing off road evvvvvvvver.”!!!!!!!!
It’s a dead end at a farm so we back track and it’s a little tricky at the end for her little legs. Could feel her giving me evils.
Drama over I restore her faith in my navigation by finding a grand place to stop for lunch and photos.
Suns out winds dropped a bit, its Spring look theres life.

Our lunch spot.

Real Picnic bag out

We see this tree covered in Ivy ,looks like an elephant “Ish”

Off again up toward Elton passing stone circle could be 9 stones close and Robin Hoods Stride.
