Hi all

Please, could somebody point me in the right direction to where I can find the BMW wiring connector that piggyback to the original connector in the front of the bike, under the steering. Which number or name part it is? How much does it cost? Which dealer has it?
I need to connect my gps to a power source and I think this is the easiest way, instead of placing wires to the battery or to the rear power socket.

Thank you for your help :bow

Hi Dutchman

I have a streetpilot III. I read somewhere that you can adapt the BMW type connector to the power cable. Please tell me about how much does it cost, and how I can send it to you?

Thanks

Buy a BMW piggy-back connector from a dealer (1150 and 1200 GS is the same part/number) then connect your GPS cable to it by cutting the wires and joining them (heat-shrink/insulation tape etc) then connect to your fag socket. No fuse is needed as the fag socket is fused. Cheers

During the 2006 model year BMW changed the design of the piggy back cable.....so the earlier ones are, indeed, the same as the 1150GS:

http://www.motorradconcepts.com/esh...-accessory-cable-71-60-7-685-624-old-version/

The later version:

http://www.motorradconcepts.com/esh...-accessory-cable-61-12-7-700-005-new-version/

The introduction of the new type was completely random across the entire BMW range so we've included a pic of each type of socket for ease of identification

Cheers
