Pillion pegs

Obscure one, this. Anyone know how to get the pillion pegs off the pillion hangers? They're held on with a little axle thing (that lets them move) and a spring clip. The spring clip comes off easily, but the axle thing won't. I would have thought it should just push out, but even with a bit of persuasion (hammer) it won't budge. Can't get it to turn either (thought it might be threaded).

According to the IPC it is a pin held in place with a circlip. The oilheads had a spring loaded ball and recess mechanism to lock the foot peg in retracted or fold out position. That appears not to be the case with the Hexhead and WC.

They have a tendency to seize through lack of use. Spray with WD40, remove circlip, then use similar diameter bolt with a hammer to drift the pin out. Takes a bit of time but worked for me on my last GS LC.
