Anybody know of any system / mods where the pillion seat is removed & a modified 'piece of kit' (using the same attaching system) can be used in its place? Thinking of a rack / case / bag of some sort?

try Hepco & Becker they do a metal tray that replaces the seat had one on my 11gs for a year , motobins are the official dealer failing that bolt a piece of marine ply across the tool tray.
