Can anyone recommend a company who deals re-covering seats, or have they done the covering themslves and give any tips.

Previous owner did the damage before i got the bike and now I want to put it right. damage is on the corners of the base and has worn through to the padding. Im in no rush to fix as Christmas is looming forever closer, however the splits/tears are very slowly getting worse.

As a temp measure I thought about glueing the tears but would this melt the sponge padding:nenau

Any thoughts would be gratefull:thumb2

Hi Richie,
I had a tear on seat on GS low seat -got the seat re-covered by a local upholsterer, cost me about £40 . He did a neat job, and also re-shaped the foam a bit too, which made the lo seat slightly more comfortable ( as much as an Adventure 1150 lo seat can be - I use an AirHawk on it now !)
However, if you do a search I'm sure I've seen info on a guy who can completely reshape and/or re-cover seats, based around Bradford if memory serves. No doubt someone will add to this post who knows the details.

RE seats recovering

Thanks Roger,
I did a search and found a couple of people local to me and to be honest when the previous owner said he had been given a quote for about £100  I thought about the DIY route

How long ago did you have your seat recovered? Was that a recent Quote?

Cheers
Richie :bounce1

Hi Richie,
had seat re-covered only a few months ago last July I think.
For around £70 -100 you might well find a used BMW seat -some guys on forum here might have one, but I'd go with suggestion from Digger.
