What are the views on here, would a taller screen be better or worse for the pillion on a R1150GS, I know they can be better for the rider....

I've had standard GS, tobinated GS, standard Adv and tobinated Adv on my bike and none caused buffetting for the pillion, although currently the tobinated Adv (higher than standard by a couple of inches) does give me a bit of buffetting. It needs more adjustment.

Thre are so many variables (rider and pillion height, riding position, helmets, screen angle, seat height etc) that there's no simple answer to your question. You just have to try a screen and, if it doesn't suit you or your pillion, sell it on to someone else who wants to try.

I have an 1150GSA and I bought numerous different screeens costing me many hundreds of £'s. My final set up is Tobinators plus a Nippy Normans slightly tinted but box standard screen. The Tobinators raise the screen which is great for me, and the Nippy Normans standard screen I found slightly thicker than the original BMW one so less vibration at high speeds.

Regards pillion passengers my missus was pillion last Christmas from Bristol to the Algarve in Portugal via Dover/Calais, then right down through France and Spain via the eastern side of the Pyrenees. She had no probs at all with buffeting so I would personally recommend that set up.

Hope this helps.

Take the top box off, rev the bike's tits off then drop the clutch. As you ride away the complaining from the pillion gets quieter and quieter.
