I think I would like some music to listen to on my daily commute. I don`t like headphones, so I`m contemplating fitting some kind of weatherproof speakers and an amp plugged into the MP3 player. Anyone else done similar?

Perhaps a kettle and a toaster too then.................

And wot about the washing up ?

Yep you could always fit a kitchen sink ! :D

Arf arf arf :D Spend two hours a day in the saddle & you might just contemplate wanting some tunes to keep you company too! ;)
Pinched from another thread........

I've never done it that way, but I seem to remember that these guys did a helmet speaker that would plug into your mp3 player direct.

I know Autocom do one which sticks to your helmet liner with velcro so you can take it in and out easily (for when you don't want the music) but I've only ever used the mono single speaker - I don't know if they do a stereo version.

Not much help, but hopefully some...

Actually I'm think of the same, I have an autocom with the speakers in my helmet, but I find that sometimes, it can distract me. if it was outside my helmet it would be better.

Hien Gerrick do a set of weather proof speackers that bolt to the wing mirrors or elsewhere and an amplifier, but not tried this yet, I was looking for something a little smaller.

Right, got some of those hein gericke jobbies now. Going to fit them over the weekend, will take some pics when I`ve done it and you can all mercilessly take the piss! :D
Talking of fitting them, can anyone tell me where the best place to splice into the wiring would be, bearing in mind that I would like only to have the set powered up when the ignition is on? Ta :thumb

Right tried it now.
Verdict.....Don`t bother! Complete waste of time :(
Even at very low speed, to hear it, it needs to be turned up unsociably loud. Bollox!
