Hi can anybody advise, suther the above when only travelling a short distance on my 05 plate R1200GS, never had a problem with any other bike that I have owned??????

:(

Could be the onset of "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome". Your symptoms described are just like when it started with me.
I put up with it for two years as it got progressively worse before I discovered what it was :blast. had the op and never had a problem since with my hand.

Might be worth checking it out.....:rob

Snap!....

...I was going to say Carpal Tunnel Syndrome too....but you beat me to it!....:D

A simple test i had last week was-
arm by your side.elbow out.
put hand up, pointing to the sky fingers together, your hand and fingers may: * feel numb * tingle * burn You're most likely to get these symptoms in your thumb, index and middle fingers and the side of your ring finger nearest your thumb. You may also get aching or pain in your forearm, shoulder and neck.

i am not a Medic just a poor soul who has bad hand injuries.get yourself to the qwacks and tested. ;)

just relax your grip.... This bike may be many bad things, but is as stable as they come... light touches... goes where you want...

Thight gloves to.in the fingers also try a quick ride without gloves my mate had it all the time till he changed gloves sweet as a nut now.

I get the same problem when riding my GS and put it down to the frequency levels of vibration. I dont get the symptoms when riding my Harley so it is unlikely to be a medical condition that I have.

It seems to be "hand arm vibration" check out the HSE website for more info. Keeping warm and maintaining good blood flow is known to delay or prevent HAVs so the above comments about tight gloves, tight cuffs etc is good advice.

I keep meaning to try some handle bar end weights to change the vibrations frequency level but havnt got round to it yet.

I had the same problems with my hands... numb fingertips...

After installing ROX riser 2 weeks ago, its all gone. By tipping the handle bars closer to me i sit more relaxed and my arms are not permanently straightened.
