Due a service and a MOT, and having recently moved house, I needed to find a good local garage, Piper Motorcycles were pretty close so I gave them a call a month ago "we're booked solid for the next two months, but if you can do the Oct 2nd we have a cancellation". New boots fitted, serviced, and MOT. They called to say the head stock bearings were shot (rusty was the term used...) I thought it was a bit stiff... so new headstock bearing fitted and she's riding like new.
Highly recommend Piper, they only do Harley, Brad Piper and his dad, very impressed, really nice guy, google earth doesn't do them justice, it looks like a few sheds in a yard... best approached of A335 - Twyford Road - onto Shakespeare Road, and first Right, looks like a track. If you sat nav 5a The Retreat it's easy to miss as the entrance is behind you when you go through a gap off The Retreat. I had a good look at tyre choices but decided to stick with the Metzeler, the bike handles really well on these and they stick like glue in the dry (hence the bottom pipe grounding a flat spot.) She's a tad loud so I'm breaking the new neighbours in gently.... the pipes are baffled...
