Having listened to the mumblings, I've just got a nice new shiny SOny Ericson k750i....and it is indeed a nice phone.

It's Vodaphone branded though, which from what I'm pissed off to find means that I can't apply my MP3's as ringtones without running them through a special prog 'DRM packager'......fine, I can do that, but all the links I've found so far have been dead.

Does anyone who happens to work for Vodaphone ;) know anything about unlocking this thing so I can do what I did with my V535 and use all of my MP3's as ringtones etc???

It's pissing me off big time

assuming it to be an upgrade, what sort of dosh did you have to fork out to get it - vodafone biz want £129 plus VAT for me, but I am on the most basic business package?

Is the radio function useable without an earpiece, or plugged in speaker?

Vodaphone shop wanted £160 for it.....so I pointed out poiitely that O2 and Orange would do it free, with the same number (for £20 transfer) and a similar contract..the shop said I could call Vodphone customer service and see if I could get oit lowered.......£34 they said, ...no thanks, I'd like to cancel please....why would I pay 34 quid when I can get it for free etc etc....then the cancellations bloke said Ok, I'll do it for the same.....'I hope I get a bluetooth set' says I.......

Anyway.....no, free, give them a push, and don't let go until they let you walk......get cheeky, you've got fekk all to lose.

Radio function is only accessible with earpiece connected 'cos the wire is the aerial...but you can put it on speaker once it's working and still make calls etc....the earpiece still has to be connected though.

Amazing sound quality for such a titchy thing..and I can see the double LED's coming in handy for camping ;)

Still pissed off with the O.S though.....If I can't get it sorted, I'm going back to my V635

Thanks Fanum, I'll give that a try, I'm not that fussed about staying with Vodafone anyway, the service level has been going down.

Hmmm I think I've cracked it now.....lots of fiddlin' to get the thing set up but heck, it's all a learning experience

what sort of contract do you have fanum, mines the basic no free minutes/£15 month deal, and no-one seems to do free upgrades on that one!

Vodphone 200 mins x network with free w/end calls to UK landlines......30 quid PM.

They might not admit they'll do it free (as mentioned above) but push them hard enough and they will ;)

just yesterday ordered my 750i from orange as an upgade..i was holding out for the W800i but they say it will be well into next month...
the w800 is near the same but comes with a 512 card instead of the 64 with the k750i.
no cost ...freeeeeee

500 any network mins £25 per mth.

ps bill just stick the mp3's on the card if you have a card reader then look for them when you pace the card back in the phone...it should work

also get a big card and no need for a seperate mp3 player on the bike....the only catch at the moment is the fitting at the bottom of the phone is different than previous phones...faster transfer thing on the 750 and 800's...so you need an audio break out i think...i never could get the small headphone outlet on my p900 to play sound and let me talk on the phone when trying it with the autocom. so i see the same problem with the k750..there were adaptors for the p900 but i don't think as yet one for the 750:(
