Hi all,

Can someone give me some recent updates about the piste condition from Agoudal area to Dades?

I'll travel with four GSA with road tires.

Tanks in advance,

It will literally change day by day.

I remember doing a recce on that route about 8 years ago...it was all fine, smoother than normal and looked a doddle.....two weeks later, we were back with the trip and it was impassable.

In fact, day by day is too long....we had another trip that ended up split into two groups with some going by road (dicky tums and a few wanting a restive easy day) where the road group got up there at mid day with no problem....by the time the rest of the group arrived, it was impassible again, with meter deep floods.

We had to wait for an hour or two for them to recede and even then, we called in my support landrover to assist.

Your best bet is to chance it on the day and have a fallback plan......it will never be closed for too long though :)

There's four areas that can be a problem, all to do with water. A week ago it was totally impassable (there's a section of 800m riding along the river bed). The stream crossing at km80 is tricky, it has two deep sections and has caught many people out—including me.

Now the track should be dry, but there *could* be some water damage that isn't so well repaired. Just bear in mind you don't need to play the cards you have been dealt, there's nothing to stop you remodelling the piste by clearing rocks, filling in gullies and so on.

The tarmac now starts more than 20km north of M'semrir.
