For those who may be thinking of adding these to their bike I thought I would post my experience. I always thought my foot pegs were too high, OK I did not notice this so much after a long ride but on the odd occasion I went over some rough ground or light off road, I really struggled to ride stood up, almost like I was 'lurched over' when doing so.
MIKEH has a set of Pivot Pegs for sale and looking at them in the photos I was sure they would fit, but I emailed the company over in the US to make sure before I bought them. They came back to me within a few days saying that they wouldn't fit, as they were for a 1200 and that there were specific one for my 100 GS, which of course they could sell me! This answer I kind of expected, but thought id ask. Not put off by that and coupled with the fact I have a decent lathe with a milling attachment that I could 'modify' them with, I bought them.
I fitted them this morning and the result is excellent, I am well pleased. They bolted straight on, the only thing I had to do was bend the tensioning spring about 45 degrees, but they went on a treat, AND they actually lower the rest position by over 2cm! I have adjusted the gear lever position to suit and they look, in my opinion great. I sat on the bike on centre stand after fitting just one peg, and the difference is unbelievable! I can actually stand on the pegs now and it feels 'normal'.
I have not ridden the bike as yet, the acid test for me in riding, as the OE rests rubber of course which absorbs some vibrations, but im not going round the world on it so suspect it will be OK??
Here's some pics..
Oh, and just to add, MIKEH is a top bloke to buy from!!!
