I've organised a long weekend in France in Normandy for May 7-10th. We are visiting some of the D-Day sites and also using to give advanced training for those who require it. One person has dropped out so there is a place available if any of the West Mids tossers fancy it.

Brief Details

Depart: May 7th from Portsmouth to Cherbourg at 15:30 with Brittany Ferries (3 hr crossing)

Accommodation: Chateau L'Epniguet for 3 nights dinner/b&b - approx 12 miles from Cherbourg (Biker friendly, run by two Brits, superb countryside location and fantastic hospitality).

Saturday: organised ride out to visit sites such as Omaha Beach, American Cemetery, St Mere Eglise, Pointe du Hoc etc

Sunday and Monday: Free and easy, advanced training available for those that would like it.

Return: May 10th at 17:00 Cherbourg to Portsmouth

Costs - £230 for a single rider, £390 for rider and pillion. (Cost includes ferry and hotel)

Let me know if you are interested and I will provide any other details you may need. Full payment will be required as the balances are now due.

PM me or call 0798 408 5054

Was tempted. Still tempted really.

However, just checked Brittany Ferries site and it appears both those sailings are full. Friday fully booked for all sailings, and only the 2345 sailing available on Monday for return.

The ferry shows as fully booked because I have booked all of the bike slots:D and I now have one available as previously stated.

Space

Mike,
Let me know if you still have a vacancy as I might be able to get the time off
Regards
Matt

well, seeing as how you asked, Monsieur Ferret :

bien sur (IIRC) means "of course"

coq au vin is a french chicken and wine dish - or summink similar (ou quelque chose comme ça)

paris st germain is a french footy team

It's a trip to France, innit :D :beerjug: :JB

just the first random pish in french that occurred to me :thumb2

A bit like the Delboy guide to foreign lingo, except he'd have mixed a bit of Spanish and German in for comic effect :roll

Departing tomorrow

Whoo hooooo!!!!

Heading for La Belle Francais tomorrow lunchtime for a long weekend in Normandy.

Departing at 1400 for a bimble through the Cotswolds to Pompey and then the early 8:15 ferry to Caen.
