The plain being Salisbury and the simple being the rider/camera man. A few piccies of the road into Imber village and out again via the American Road on Christma Eve. I appreciate the effort required after a gargantuan Christmas lunch to click the link but it maybe the only exercise you get today!

That looks cool I'd like to have a look around that little lot and there's mud too....:thumb

will be making more time for myself this comeing year too much good stuff out there and I missing it.

The area reverts back to a Danger Zone as part of the Salisbury Plain Training Area and all public access is prohibited. It will open again to the public for short periods during 2008, I believe around the August Bank Holiday.

:blast:blast:blast:blast well that's handy won't be there till August next years then...:blast:blast is there a secret way of finding out for sure?

There is a recorded information line on 01980 674763, unfortunately I am unsure as to what, if any notice, it will give on access to usually prohibited areas. I will try and find the relevant web address (but I will not have that until 8 Jan 08, doh!). If it is of interest to others, when I learn of the next period that the area is open to the public I shall post it up here.

It does not give you the right to charge across the Plain; you can only use designated public rights of way.

That would be brill, I tend to stick to the path cos you never know what you might trip over if you go off the track and my wife would kill me if I get my legs blown off.:blast

Definitely best to stick to the PROW, there is real ordnance out there and it could ruin your day, especially on the centre (Central Impact Area). Dates for when the routes on the west are open are usually advertised in the Tilshead newsletter which is available at Tilshead Garage. PROW on the centre are subject to flag so open when flags are down & vedettes not manned. PROW on the east are generally always open. Remember that at present all RUPPs marked on the OS map are currently restricted byways so no legal access on bikes anymore. Stick to the BOATs and you should be OK. HTH.
