Not quite sure if this is the right place to ask to ask for help but I'll give it a try anyway.

I'm using my PS3 for internet browsing and I'm having difficulty getting the web pages to fit the TV screen. For instance when I try to look at this site, the web page appears to be to large for my TV screen, resulting in the need for me to "pan round" the page to be able to read it.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do so that I can read the web page as if it were on my computer?

Thanks in anticipation.

PS Ive got an "old fasdhioned" non HDD TV.

I'll try to make this easy, but without looking at my PS3 it might be a bit difficult.
Make sure you have updated to the latest operating system. (system update, far left of main screen, or go to playstation store and if you need an update it will ask you to do this first)

When using the browser, push triangle, go to tools and try changing the view option, if that doesn't work, I don't know as it may not be fully compatable with all web sites.

I'll try this site, UKGser, on mine tonight and see what happens.

i don't really use my ps3 for browsing too much, mainly as i don't have a keyboard, so typing is to much of a phaff!

But IIRC if you press the R3 button (pressing the RH jostick into the pad like a button) to jump zoom in/out & then use the L2 & R2 to manually zoom in & out & josticks to navigate...

(or is it L3...one of the josticks anyway...sorry!)

PS, get yourself a HDTV as well, i tried the ps3 on a SD CRT & its not upto the job IMO, HD is so much better...& you'll find text alot easier to read on a HDTV. - you looking at about £500 for a 32"er (make sure it has at least one HDMI socket though)

Kaycee,

the problems with the resolution, if you fit the whole of the UKGSer site onto the TV scvreen you won't be able to read any of the text, your choice's are either get used to scrolling about or get a HD TV.

UKGSER is built to be viewed on a screen roughly 1200*1000 without scrolling about

you TV resolution in PC terms is about 480*640, so UKGSER is twice as big as the resolution of the screen so you need to scroll about,

you can simulate it on your PC screen if you change the resolution back to 800*600 or similar you'll find that this site now has a horizontal scroll bar but if you put your PC screen back up to 1200 ish the scroll bar will go away.

Thanks Guys.

Phil. I tried the differant view options without much success.

Mark. HD TV on the shopping list (just hope my employer pay a bonus this year!!!)

Roddy. Sounds about right. UKGSER is twice the size of the screen. HD TV it has to be then...
