Looking for a way out
My trusty old BMW heated vest has a loose connection and I want to replace the connector - both on the plug (on the power lead) and socket (on the jacket), as the current one is knackered.
They don't seemt to make the same again, so I'll need to use something else.

I bought some DIN 12v stuff from Maplin as below, but they don't connect very tightyl and I think they will tend to pull apart.

Any recommdation of what connector to use. I gues it would make sense to use another heater jacket brand, but I need to be able to buy them separately and I'm not prepared to pay £10 for each...

Why not contact POPEYE on the forum, he can supply Hella/BMW style plugs and sockets?

I assume you thinking of a plug like the end of this?

Bike pluggin the lead into the bike is ok, but I need the other end, something a bit smaller under my jacket then that.

I'd use 'Tamiya' connectors. They are the type you get on battery packs for RC cars.

Possibly better (but I'm not sure Maplin do them' but Farnell or RS will) is 'SAE' connectors.
