Try La Pisa. Pension near to Potes in the Picos. Run by John and Gwen, first class place with five star food, bar and hospitality and roads in the area.
About 70 miles from Santander a short spin from the 6pm ferry.
The booking process can be done by very helpful Claire ( daugther in law ).
A group of us has just had week there on route to Portugal and the south.
Highly recommended .

+1

Don't expect to lose any weight :)

I'll miss you by a week, I'm on the 1st July boat and heading to Portugal too..... can't wait!:beerjug:

Go take a look at the vineyards in the Douro Valley, and have a night in Porto. There are some superb restaurants on the Gaia side of the Douro river in the city, close to the Eiffel Bridge, the restaurants are housed in old bonded warehouses that were used to send port-wine to England and the commonwealth.

Hi RICHO,

I am going out on Sunday 8th July to Santander with my wife on the back.

I will be on a 2 week old red GSA, but its got a personal reg plate C13 ASH. Both got silver Shark evoline helmets.

Going a week later: Sail from Plym Sun 15 july with a bunch of mates on various sports etc. heading down to Faro Rally following weekend then back up to Le Havre for Portsmouth sailing following Sunday.

Porto is definitely worth a stop, as is Santiago de Compostella. Stopping there for two nights on return trip (my third visit). If you can, get off the E and A roads and explore Asturia, east of Santiago and west of Picos. Very under developped and vastly under rated :thumb2

Hi cogs well hav e good trip done pico,s for last 2yrs also went down to moto faro 2010 might get down to algrave I think still better than being in sunny uk eh hav e a good one :beerjug: Clive ......

Hi Richo,

We are on our own. I don't think it should be to difficult to pick each other out. Although I have seen the ferry with a couple of hundred bikes on it.

We are travelling down to Swindon on the Saturday and staying with a mate then on to Plymouth on the Sunday. Saturday looks like sun with heavy showers and similar for South of England on the Sunday. So we may manage to dodge any really heavy rain.

I see you are going to Portugal. Have you done Spain and Portugal before? I did Spain and Portugal last year and Spain the year before as well.

We have 6 nights booked up in hotel in Cadeques which is on the border between France and Spain. Our route includes circumnavigating the Pyranees and dodging the Tour De France on the way back.

See you on the ferry for a few drinks. Its usually a good party atmosphere although I doubt my wife will show up she is already planning to be sea sick the entire journey.

Chris
