This whole thread and offer was aimed at preventing what happened to me in February happening to someone else when there is kit available to mitigate the incident.

It would appear that it's been successful and I'm personally very happy that the broken collarbone and 5 broken ribs I endured after an off at 30mph appears to have been avoided.

Just remember when trying the tether for length not to try standing up on the pegs too fast....

It was rather embarrassing for my neighbour but at least he proved it works ��

These are identical to the Helite vests retailing at £500 so they're exceptional value for money....

The neck has been modded slightly on the new ones with the crash padding on the shoulders cut at an angle and a fillet put into the material to make it easier to look around with it on.

These are cracking vests, and for the price they are unbeatable, which is why I have two!

Jim, do you know if they have any abrasive qualities at all, for when I slide down the road? Or are they simply based on their horse rider vests? Even if they haven't, they are still worth buying at the special price.

As far as I know the cover is ballistic nylon so should be good for a fair slide but will probably need repairing afterwards.

I don't think that's any different from any other bike kit though!

If you do come off however I would highly recommend sending it in to Point Two and getting it looked over...

Bump in case you've not seen these..

Compared to the Motor vest which I've seen recently these also protect around your neck and lock your helmet in place, protect your hips, chest and collarbones (Would have been handy last year.... )

Forgot to look at the date originally started.

So assume that discount price is now invalid.

No, the discount price is still current although the price is now £270 rather than the £250 original price. It's still a huge discount on the retail price.

The price is due to increase to £280/£285 shortly so get them while they're cheap!

Point Two Servicing

Not sure if this is strictly necessary but Point Two recommend having your jacket serviced every year and they charge you £49.50 plus £10 return postage.

So having had my jacket for nearly 2 years and the Hi Viz looking particularly grubby (both my bikes have Scottoilers!) decided to send it off to be serviced.

Noticed that they also do an outer shell colour swap for an extra £70.50 and having never been a fanatical disciple of the church of Hi Viz - decided to get them to swap it for a black version

Checking the courier tracking they received my jacket Tuesday lunchtime and it was back with me this morning - so a really quick turnaround

As part of the service they replace the air bag and having gone for the colour swap I now have a completely new jacket with the latest pleated shoulder design (old jacket had a Velcro solution). They also look to have given me a new trigger mechanism rather than swapping my old one over.

All in all very happy with the service
