Has anybody attempted to mirror polish the side panels of the 1200. If so was it successful, and would you recommend it.

Nope, but had front mudguard and both panels colour coded with tank. LOOKS ACE!!

I've polished alloy an alloy frame on a previous bike and also wheel rims and the biggest hassle I personally found was removing the anodized coating.
With the side panels being so thin I think it could be a problem getting them polished
