My sister just returned from a long weekend in Marrakech with three of her friends. They had no hassle to speak of, as a bunch of females might expect to get, but one word has been puzzling her.
When they were approached by vendors or hawkers, sometimes when they said "no thanks" or didn't take them on, they got "poonami" said in their direction. (sounded like toon army, or tsunami, but with a "p")
Melissa reckoned it was a derogatory term, so does anyone know?

Try googling punami  Could describe your suspicions ;)

Yup, sounds like it, ta Bryn.

To ap
preciate it, you probably had to be there:D:D

Git. :D

:postpics

Put some pics on here of your sister and we'll tell you if she is or not ;)

Erm, let me see. :mmmm No.

poonani was an Ali G word fora lady's 'lady garden' / front bottom (etc etc) iirc

Thought I'd heard it before.

Melissa is blessed with a similar temper to myself, which comes from our father, so it's probably just as well that she wasn't sure of the meaning at the time! :D
