Poor **** probably saw the fares

I see the puir fecker is ha'en to share a ward and a toilet wi' 3 x complete strangers. :comfort

Apparently, if he'd been the captain of a DFDS ferry, he'd have had a ward to himself and only paid half of what this one costs him.

I managed to find a spare half hour last night :augie to check up on fares for a possilbe trip tae Frunce this summer:

Newcastle - Amsterdam, 2 bikes, cabin = £468 return

Rosyth - Zeebrugge, 2 bikes, cabin = £605 return £505 single??

Cannae get the 'Autoslaap' motorail page to open but:( I like the idea of loading bikes and riders onto a train and sleeping all the way to Avingon )

That Newcastle fare seems a bit steep Wully. The only difference fae my fare in July is an extra bike and yet you're aboot £160 dearer. The Rosyth fare disnae look too bad when you consider the fuel difference for two bikes goin to Newcastle and back.

I'll need tae speak tae a real human aboot it- sometimes on line booking is more expensive..

Must say that being a lazy git I quite like the idea of sailing frae Rosyth - keeps me oot of englandshire as well. Always a bonus:D

Your up early - or late going to bed:nenau

You'd be better phonin Norfolklines right enough. That quote might mean that you and Di are ha'en tae share wi' twa raggidy ersed truckers. :nenau

I was up early to take the dug across the golf course. Just back. Today's score:

Dug 1
Bunny Rabbit 0 :(

Yir dugs got a long way to go tae catch up wi oor cat- wee fecker is on a killing spree..

Just checked the Autorail/sleeper prices

s'Hertingbosch to Avingnon for 2 of us and our bikes sharing a 6 person cabin with some dutch punters is 670 euros

Ach well, it'll be nice camping out in Frunce.

meanwhile in a furrin land....

Brittany ferries.
Cork to Roscoff.
high season / July.
one cabin / one Bike / two people.....

€870 :(

only other choice from here is "Irish" (Irish me arse:mad:) ferries.
€690
same deal - time of year/cabin/2 bike+2people etc.
but it's like feckin butlins on sea. :barf

I had a wee glance at the ferry when I was heading back into Fife today. It's aboot half the size o' the original Superast ferry or the DFDS ones. Disnae look as if it'll take all that many vehicles or passengers.

Well at least they wont have as many empty cabins then:augie

They've invited me to join the Captain next weekend and we'll be doing a cabaret and Karaoke during the sailing. We're calling oorselves...

Gerry and The Pacemaker :P

Even Cheaper DFDS Fares!!

Hi Guys
I agree with Ronno that £468 sounds a bit steep - we're crossing in July - 1 bike, 2 adults, standard cabin = £264:thumb
More important though is that to book I used a "special" booking webpage which gives you a 10% MCN discount. We got a discount of £29 off a normal fare to get to the£264 price
It seems to be immpossible to get to this booking page if you don't know about it? - you can't get this discount on the normal booking page:confused:.
So I've put a link to the page below:-

Give it a try Wully?

Cheers......................Grizzly:beer::beer:

Great link Grizzly, I have just booked my September tour of Poland and Slovakia. There are 5 of us going and it came in at £189 each which includes 1 rider, 1 bike return and breakfast and evening meal each way (4 meals in total) - very pleased:thumb2 This is in a 2 birth outside cabin and a 4 birth inside cabin with 3 occupants. Bring on the Cabaret:mmmm

Just a thought George but could you not make your post into a new thread and get garfield to sticky it? That's a crackin' saving and a Top Tosser Tip for Euro travellers thinking about using the Newcastle ferry :beerjug:
