Poor rear profile visibility in the dark.

LED repeater lights are often self adhesive and being LED dont need the lump on the back that locates the old bulb into the car wing panel. Chop off the lug, stick them down and run the wires neatly. When you get bored (or fed up having the P taken) you can peel them off again.

Some will say daft idea but on the B'ham M6 this morning, so few were seeing my indicators (so it seemed) that some repeaters on my side cases made (some) sense.

High Viz IMO makes booger all difference. The drivers that run into a biker are simply not looking so riding about looking like the Green Cross man (or a VOSA road womble) is totally pointless. That said, the thee lamps triangle (all dipped) is def more visible than a single headlight. Just watch how many cars brake suddenly as they abort a side road exit when the (eventually) spot the GS looming down on them.

Now I won't sleep again. More to worry about :rob like the led lighting but being scared of the dark it's a waste of time .....

I thought id cut you some slack as it didnt seem any one could be that much of a twat but I was wrong, you are :thumb

I fitted this to the back of my Vario top box. Wired it directly in parallel with the bike rear light unit via a 3 way waterproof plug / skt.

Although when I swapped it to the LC GS, it brought up a dash fault light. I eventually wired it through an interface that took microamps from the bike to light the LED unit.
Works great, top box level running light / brake.

Sorted ! You need this fella.

Post a picture when you have fitted it

Do you know I almost like the idea of sticking one of the those on my top box. Sort of anti-cool.

I assume I'm not allowed :(

I quite like the idea of that as I wonder how many car drivers would move over just because its a flashing light

Put a bulb/new bulb in your tail light.....It's what they're for you know!! :rob

I fitted the Smart cycle red led lights to the engine bars. I have been using them on a dark country lane route that I use v early mornings. I have had several comments from people I know who have been following me that the lights were really effective. They obviously stand out. This was the desired effect. They use aaa batteries that last 120 hours or so and are easily removed from the clip mountings. I am happy to reduce any risk as much as I can and best bit is it shows anyone coming up behind the true width of the bike. I put the 3M strip on the vario box and panniers and it really does make a difference whilst not looking too bad. All round cheap and effective.
