Hi all,

Been a bit of a C0ck today... I had a sticking piston in the front offside calliper, the side nearest spokes to be precise.

Any way.... I was cleaning the piston edges and had some wood in between the pistons to stop them popping out but the wood slipped and out came a piston  :(

The next thing was having brake fluid dripping on my knee and the floor and estimate I lost 1 to 2 egg cups of fluid before I popped the piston back in place. I have just had the abs system bled and serviced on the 24k service and a competent friend had all the tools etc to do this. Bike is 2004 GSA ABS/SERVO

I realise now that the fluid has come from the abs resivior and I now have the brake warning light flashing. I now have to take the tank off and top up the pump. I know how to do this as I was present when the abs system was bled. Before I get my hands dirty tomorrow is there anything else I need to be aware of.

Muchly thanks in advance :)

Jon

whooooo...... ABS and Servo.......make sure you know what your doing mate....it is your breaks after all and not your ipod ... :(

Well I couldn't wait untill tomorrow so the tanks off and I have topped up the front resivior and bled the system through.

Brake lever feels nice and firm when pulled in so a road test tomorrow.... to late, dark and cold now

How a simple job can turn to shite eh :(

Is that so you can see me fly through the air as my brakes fail in mid corner :D

And I thought you were my mate :( :D

Yeah, don't let the wood slip out.:aidan

Thanks mate :P :pullface

anyway... i'm still here after successful test ride. No warning lights, nice firm resistance on the lever when pulled so hopefully popped the piston back in before to much fluid lost.

Will probably still get my mate to bleed the whole sytem through again though.

Jon :)
